Your trusted source for wills, trusts, and estates in Portsmouth, NH

Creating an estate plan is a personal process.  Ensuring that loved ones are cared for and deciding who should get your property upon your death are important decisions.  If you don’t make these decisions, the State will decide for you.  And in that case, the result may not be what you wanted.

A properly prepared estate plan can safeguard assets after a person’s death, preserve family relationships, leave a lasting legacy to charity and minimize taxes and administrative costs.  Estate planning can also ensure that clients’ wishes regarding their health care treatment, financial affairs and the management of their assets are followed during a period of incapacity.

At the Law Office of Hope M. Flynn, we focus our practice on estate planning (wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney for finances and advance directives) and estate administration.  Located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, we assist clients throughout the Seacoast region.  We work with clients to understand their specific situation.  We learn what is important to them and what they want to achieve with their estate planning.  If you know what you want, we can prepare the necessary documents for you to achieve that.  However, if you are not sure what you want, we can work with you to help figure that out.  Once you decide what that is, we can develop a comprehensive estate plan that is tailored to those specific desires and goals.

We can assist you with creating an estate plan.  We can advise you of your options regarding a will, trusts, durable power of attorney for financial matters, durable power of attorney for health care and living will (also known as an advance directive).  We can assist you if you have a friend or family member who has died and you need to go through the probate process.  We can assist you if you need to obtain a guardianship over a minor or someone who is incapacitated.  We can help with litigation in the event of a contested estate.  We also advise executors regarding the probate procedure and we advise trustees and trust beneficiaries as to trust administration.
